My photo
When I paint, no matter what the subject matter is, I always strive to paint with loose, expressive brush strokes, using bold, vivid colors and a sense of humor. I work very spontaneously, mostly in mixed aqua media on paper because I like the way the paint flows and I like the transparency of the colors resulting in an organic piece. I constantly experiment with colors, techniques and subjects.

Miner's Lunchpails

I am working on a Lunch pail Project.  These are my first practice ideas.  I am going to submit a 12 by 12 final painting on wood that is for a fundraiser for a gallery in Michigan.  The idea is to do something to represent the history of the area.  My memories are of my Dad and helping him pack his lunch pail before he marched off to the Iron Ore mine he worked in.  I would throw in a surprise treat which he would pretend not to see me doing.
